PDiC Group is in the final stages of completing a specialist warehouse partitioning project designed to help a client meet its requirements for the safe storage of hazardous products under the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regime.

The project involves the design and installation of 123 linear metres of closed-pitch mesh partitioning, extending to a maximum height of 12 metres at the roof apex. The enclosure creates a defined, ring-fenced storage area, helping to segregate hazardous products within the warehouse.

A key feature is the integration of powered roller doors with the client’s alarm system. Designed to close automatically in the event of a fire, the doors help seal off the designated compartments. Pedestrian escape doors are also incorporated into the installation.

The project has required careful consideration of the building’s structural characteristics, including a specialist wall-head design engineered to accommodate positive and negative wind deflection at roof level.
