Building Regulations set the minimum fire protection standards for mezzanine structures. Floors exceeding 20 metres in width or length require enhanced fire protection, while smaller structures follow the minimum guidance of Approved Document Part B and must include automatic detection and alarm systems in line with BS 5839-1:2013.
